Wellow Wasps 0 v Stoke Park Rangers 0

Wellow deserved to win this great game of football both from possession and attempts on goal. The Wasps hit the bar twice and the post and the Stoke Park keeper just had one of those games when he saved everything else. The only Stoke Park chance came in the last minute of the match, when breaking from a Wellow corner the striker went one on one with Josh Masterman who saved brilliantly with his feet. It was impossible to pick a ‘Man of the Match’ as all played well and at times the passing football of the Wellow team was a joy to watch.

Wellow Wasps 0 v Southside 1

On a bright sunny morning, the whole game was a tight & physical encounter with very few chances that the Wellow Wasps dealt with very well.  However, just before half time a Southside player picked the ball up just outside the Wellow area and with no pressure and time on the ball picked out the top corner with a fantastic shot. The second half was much the same with Wellow's best chance coming thanks to an over hit back pass that the Southside keeper kept out with a great diving save. Near the end of the game, just as in the dying moments of the first half, a Southside player found himself with time and space to shoot but this time Josh Masterman produced a wonderful save tipping the ball over the bar. A great performance from the Wellow team and this week the man of the match was Nathan Ariss.

Wellow Wolves 3 v Romsey 1

Wellow started strongly and forced an early corner. Tom Johnson played a quick one two from the corner with Logan Harms and curled it into the top corner to make it 1-0. Jack Rickman then had a shot at goal but Romsey’s goal keeper, Joe Besant, was too quick and made an excellent save. In the second half Romsey fought back and despite a great double save from Josh Jackson, Camren Marsh scored for Romsey. However, it didn’t stay level for long and from a Romsey goal kick Tom Johnson rocketed the ball back into the Romsey net.  Wellow were playing their best football of the season with some nice passing football involving the whole team but they couldn’t finish their chances.  Romsey kept pushing for an equaliser as well but found James Bundy and Adam Vickers playing well in defence. In a very entertaining game the result was finally secured when another good move from Wellow put Jack Goldspink clear and this time he made no mistake & made the final score 3-1.

Wellow Wolves 1 v Oakwood 6

Wellow didn’t have any rest before their next game where as Oakwood had and this showed with Oakwood getting into a convincing lead early on. Max Slater was playing well in a new position up front and Edward Dare had a good shot saved by the keeper.  Wellow kept battling to the end and were rewarded for their efforts when Logan Harms scored in the second half.
